With an oversall record of 18-15 and 8-6 record in District 6-6A, MacArthur adanced to the playoffs as the 4th seed. The Cardinals faced Denton Guyer in their bi-district playoff game last night. Unfotunately for the Mac boys, Guyer is the #2 ranked team in the state and they played like it. They jumped all over Mac in the first quarter leading by 30 points.
Mac took a 2-0 lead when Nick Iniguez knocked down a pair of free throws after being fouled on a 3-point attempt less than a minute into the first quarter, but Guyer completely took over from there. The Wildcats scored 30 consecutive points and led 34-4 after the first before going on an 11-0 run to start the second. Although Mac started making some shots, the lead was too immense to conquer.
Mac was the only only Irving school to advance to the playoffs.
The final score was 95-42 in favor of Guyer.
