Healthgrades has recognized 12 Dallas-Fort Worth area hospitals for outstanding women’s services in their 2019 Women’s Care Awards.

Medical City Dallas and Medical City Children’s Hospital, Methodist Charlton Medical Center, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, and Baylor Surgical Hospital at Las Colinas were among the group of hospitals selected to be honored in this year’s awards. In total, nine Medical City facilities were recognized for outstanding women’s care. Honorees are recognized for their superior performance in three areas of women’s services; obstetrics and gynecology, labor and delivery, and gynecology surgery.

Each of the aforementioned hospitals received a 5-star rating in one or more category from Healthgrades, an online resource for in-depth information about physicians and hospitals. Medical City Dallas and Medical City Children’s Hospital achieved a 5-star rating in each of the three categories, as did the Methodist Charlton Medical Center. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital and Baylor Surgical Center at Las Colinas both received 5-star rating in the Gynecological Surgery category.

President of Medical City Healthcare, Erol Akdamar says the awards indicate the hospital’s dedication to providing patients with quality care.“This recognition highlights our dedication to outstanding quality, patient-center and compassionate care,” says Akdamar, per release. “These awards are just one of the reasons Medical City Healthcare hospitals are the destination of choice for women’s care.”

The Women’s Care Awards hope to help patients make the best choice when deciding where to seek health care.

“Healthgrades recognized hospitals for providing exceptional care in a variety of cohorts for women’s health, and those that achieve a five-star rating are focused on delivering high quality care,” says Chief Medical Officer of Healthgrades, Brad Bowman, MD, per release. “As healthcare trends continue to improve and evolve, patients who select a hospital that is a five-star recipient can feel confident in their decision when it comes to women’s care.”
