The 2019 Walk Like MAAD & 5K hits the streets of Las Colinas on Sept. 7. More than 500 participants and spectators are expected meet at the shores of Lake Carolyn, 514 E. Las Colinas Blvd., and spread out along the course when the event begins at 8 a.m.
The course mainly runs along Rochelle Boulevard, from State Highway 114 to Wingren. The course will run along the left (inside) lane; Rochelle will remain open to traffic during the event. Participants start in the south lane of Las Colinas Boulevard, turn onto El Lago and then onto Rochelle Boulevard. See the route map.
Motorists should expect traffic stoppages along the race route of up to 15 minutes, through noon Sept. 7, including these intersections:
- Northgate Drive
- East- and westbound frontage roads along SH 114
- Hidalgo Street
