Irving Police Department received a report yesterday before school began of a man carrying a weapon in the vicinity of Austin Middle School. Irving PD arrived and placed the school on lockdown. All students and staff were directed to Pierce Early Childhood School while Irving PD conducted two thorough searches of the campus. Irving PD deemed Austin Middle School safe and reopened the campus to students and staff at 10 a.m.
