The results are in! Three Irving ISD students are on their way to the Dallas County Spelling Bee next month. The district hosted its annual Bee yesterday, naming three champs who will advance and represent the district. This year’s winner and alternate from each cluster are:
NIMITZ CLUSTER
Winner: Pete Rodriguez of Britain Elementary School
Alternate: Adrianna Gonzalez of Elliott Elementary School
MACARTHUR CLUSTER
Winner: Jessica Chimezie of Johnston Elementary School
Alternate: Emma Martinez of Farine Elementary School
IRVING CLUSTER
Winner: Diana Amaya Canales of Austin Middle School
Alternate: Samiat Adetunji of Johnson Middle School
The Dallas County Spelling bee will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19. The winner from each cluster will compete, and the alternate will step in if the winner is unable to participate.
