The University Interscholastic League (UIL) has announced its district alignment for 2020-2021. Irving, Nimitz and MacArthur will compete in District 7.
District 7
- Dallas Jesuit
- Irving
- Irving MacArthur
- Irving Nimitz
- Richardson
- Richardson Berkner
- Richardson Lake Highlands
- Richardson Pearce
The new alignment makes the district a better matchup for the Irving teams. Jesuit and Pearce are the only two teams that made it into the playoffs in 2019.
“This is a game changer for us,” says Coach Clint Roddy, director of athletics for Irving ISD. “This levels the playing field, and I am excited for the opportunities for our scholar athletes.”
Irving ISD high schools previously shared the same district as Coppell, Hebron, Marcus, Flower Mound and Lewisville.
The UIL realigns districts every two years based on enrollment figures.
