Sam Reed Jr. Elected Chairman of the Board for the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce

Sam Reed Jr. has been elected FY2020-2021 Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce (Chamber). Mr. Reed will assume the leadership role effective immediately. The Chamber, the first 5-Star accredited Chamber in Texas, represents 1,900 member-investors and more than 200,000 employees.

Mr. Reed is the President and Owner of AlphaGraphics Irving/Las Colinas, a marketing and communications service provider specializing in printing services, graphic design, marketing, promotional products and sign production. Always wanting to own his own business, Mr. Reed purchased an existing AlphaGraphics business center in January 2012. Since then he’s been heavily engaged in the Irving-Las Colinas business community, the Chamber and donating his time and talents to nonprofits. Prior to purchasing AlphaGraphics, he was a corporate executive at PepsiCo in the sales and operations management before taking an early retirement.

“Mr. Reed has been active in the Chamber, the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for years,” said David Pfaff, 2019-2020 Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber. “As a passionate advocate for small business, Sam’s volunteer leadership at the Chamber and throughout the community has contributed to the growth and prosperity of Irving-Las Colinas. I look forward to the great work he will continue to accomplish as Chairman of the Board.”

“I thank the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for their support, electing me to this important leadership role,” said Mr. Reed. “I look forward to continuing the work of my predecessor to provide critical support to our businesses of all sizes as we reopen and reoffice. I believe the Chamber’s role has never been as important as it is now in serving as a resource for our business owners, our workforce and our community. I anticipate the opportunities ahead, building a brighter and better tomorrow, together.”
Mr. Reed is a graduate of Eureka College with a degree in Economics, a member of the Eureka College Basketball Hall of Fame and is a resident of Irving.

Mr. Reed will be recognized and formally introduced as the Chairman of the Board during the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce Virtual Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 29 at 9:00 am. The Signature Program will also feature a keynote discussion with the CEOs of Irving-based Fortune 500 companies including Curtis Morgan with Vistra Energy and Lori Ryerkerk with Celanese Corporation.
