Beware: Levels Orange and Red Ozone Forecasted Through June 17

Levels Orange and Red Ozone Action Days have been forecast through Thursday, June 17 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. View the forecast.

Children, older adults and people with lung disease, such as asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis, should limit outdoor activity when Level Orange is reached. When ozone reaches Level Red, children, older adults and people with lung disease, such as asthma, emphysema, or chronic bronchitis, should avoid outdoor activity, and everyone should limit prolonged outdoor exertion at that time.

On Ozone Action Days, help out the environment by implementing clean air strategies. Here are some great examples of things you can do to help improve air quality:

  • Carpool or vanpool
  • Bike or walk instead of driving
  • Take mass transit such as DART, The T, or DCTA
  • Report smoking vehicles
  • Observe the speed limit
  • Reduce idling
  • Combine trips
  • Keep your vehicle maintained by getting it inspected, keeping tires properly inflated and changing filters regularly
