One person was shot during an argument at DART’s Irving Convention Center Station on Sunday night, Sept. 12 at around 7 pm. The man shot died at Parkland Hospital.
The Las Colinas station was shut down for several hours because of the police activity. People riding the Orange Line had to take a shuttle bus between the Hidden Ridge and Las Colinas Urban Center stations.
It’s not yet clear what led up to the confrontation and shooting, but police said the shooter said he fired in self-defense.
Irving Police did respond to the shooting, but DART Police are conducting the investigation since it happened on their property.
“Upon completion of the investigation, the case will be will be presented to a grand jury for determination of any potential criminal charges,” DART Police said in a news release.
