Irving To Host Paws Colinas 5k-9 Race October 9th

Your best friend can be your best running buddy on October 9th when the Las Colinas Association in partnership with the Irving Marathon Running Series present the first-ever Paws Colinas 5K-9 run/walk race on Saturday. The start and finish lines are located at the brand new, eight-acre Paws Colinas dog park located at 1300 California Crossing Rd. The race itself will take place along the beautiful Campion Trail.

Runners and up to two pup companions have the option to compete in a 5K run/walk or 1-mile fun run. The trail is shaded, with water stations and course marshals available throughout the course. The race perks are plentiful with special offerings for two and four-legged runners including a performance shirt, doggy bandana, professional race photos, finisher medals, post-race nourishment and more. Don’t have a four-legged companion? Don’t worry as there is a human only option.

The 5K walk-run begins at 7:30 a.m. and the fun run starts at 9 a.m. The tail-wagging good time continues after the race in the Paws Colinas dog park. With plenty of room to run, pups can unleash and unwind in one of the sprawling play pens. Pup parents can fuel up on food and drink while checking out a variety of event vendors as well as live entertainment and Insta-worthy photo ops. Awards will be presented to participants and their pups following the race.

“Irving-Las Colinas is one of the most dog-friendly destinations in the Metroplex, so it made sense for us to make a canine event part of the Irving Marathon Running Series mix,” said Race Director Lazaro J. Alvarez.

Registration is now open with prices ranging between $30-45. Prices increase beginning October 1st. To register or learn more, please click here.
