Irving Ranked #2 Most Culturally Diverse City In U.S.

Finder®, a personal finance website, came up with a report to rank the most culturally diverse cities in the United States.

As stated in theig blog, "America is the fourth-largest country in the world by land mass and the third most populous country. When combined, these two factors make the country a very diverse place to live. Which got us thinking: Which is the most diverse city in the country?"

In their study, factors of cultural diversity included sex, race, ethnicity, age, language, place of birth, and citizenship of residents.  Finder used U.S Census data to develop the list.

According to their data, the top most culturally diverse cities are:

  1. Hayward, California
  2. Irving, Texas
  3. Richmond, California
  4. Jersey City, New Jersey
  5. Bridgeport, Connecticut

In terms of diversity, Irving was named the most diverse city in Texas and the 21st in the U.S. In comparison to other cities in North Texas, Irving was ahead of Arlington (45), Garland (48), Dallas (57), Fort Worth (68), Denton (125), and Plano (132).
