Irving Is 5th Worst City For Active Lifestyle

With “exercising more” and “losing weight” among the top four New Year’s resolutions, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2022’s Best & Worst Cities for an Active Lifestyle.

To determine where Americans have the best chance of remaining active, WalletHub compared the 100 biggest U.S. cities across 34 key metrics. The data set ranges from the average monthly fitness-club fee to bike score to the share of physically inactive adults.

Living an Active Lifestyle in Irving (1=Best; 50=Avg.):

  • 33rd – Avg. Monthly Fitness-Club Fee
  • 88th – Fitness Centers with Virtual Classes per Capita
  • 70th – % of Physically Inactive Adults
  • 77th – Dance Studios with Virtual Classes per Capita
  • 52nd – Swimming Pools per Capita
  • 88th – Baseball & Softball Diamonds per Capita
  • 97th – Basketball Hoops per Capita
  • 19th – Public and Municipal Golf Courses per Capita
  • 76th – Parkland Acres per Capita
  • 44th – Walk Score
  • 66th – Percentage of Residents Who Are Fully Vaccinated
