Lone Star Youth Orchestra Concert On May 18, 2022

The Lone Star Youth Orchestra brings its amazing 23rd season to a blazing conclusion on May 18th with a concert titled “Fire”. This hour-long, incendiary-themed program will include combustible selections from Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite, George Frideric Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks, and Stephen Chin’s “Inferno”. As an added treat, the winners of our annual LSYO Concerto Competition will each be playing their pieces with our orchestra. First Place winner, clarinetist Micah Bybee, will perform Carl Maria von Weber’s Concertino in E-flat Major, Op. 26. Second Place winner, violinist Florent Radakichenane, will play Giovanni Battista Viotti’s Concerto No. 23 in G Major. This is your last chance to feel the warmth of the flame before our 2021-2022 season is but a burning ember our students will long remember!

Micah Bybee is an 8th grade student at Renner Middle School in Plano. This is his second year participating in LSYO. Last season Micah received Honorable Mention as the Third Place winner of the concerto competition. Micah studies with private clarinet teacher Lev Daneman.
