Woman Shot in Face after Flashing Headlights at Passing Vehicle

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, a 53-year-old woman was shot in the face early Monday morning, July 4th, after flashing her high-beam headlights at another vehicle trying to get them to dim their lights.

The shooter is still at large.

The woman told police she was driving westbound in the 4000 block of King’s Oak Lane in Fort Worth when she saw an approaching car had its high-beam headlights on. The victim said she briefly flashed her high beams, and then she was struck by a single projectile believed to have been fired by someone in the other vehicle as it was driving past.

After the incident, the victim drove to the 7-11 at 820 N. Beach St., where she called police about 3:45 am.

The victim was transported to Harris Hospital and is currently in good condition.
