The Dallas Cowboys Wheelchair Team Places 3rd in it's First Tournament

The Dallas Cowboys Wheelchair Team sponsored by RISE Adaptive Sports in Irving, Texas, placed third in this past weekend's tournament in Chicago.

As previously reported, the Dallas team was playing it's first-ever tournament.

The team had a great tournament.   In the first game, they defeated the hosts, Chicago, by a score of 19-12.    The following two games were blowouts.  They blanked the New Orleans team 52-0 and crushed the Birmingham Hammers 52-7.

In it's first playoff game, the Cowboys couldn't get going and lost to the Packers team 47-0.

The Third Place game between Dallas and Chicago was a nail biter.  It was tied at 0-0 with about a minute left in the game when the Bears threw an interception and the Cowboys capitalized with a subsequent game winning touchdown pass. The Cowboys snuck by Chicago 7-0 to take third place honors.

The Geen Bay Packers and LA Rams played in the championship with the Packers prevailing and winning the trophy.

The Dallas team will be competing again in the Tampa USAWFL Tournament hosted by Hillsborough County Adaptive Sports August 26-28.
