A 5-year-old Child and a Teenager Dead in Drive-By Shooting at North Fort Worth Home

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred around 2:00pm on August 28 at a house in north Fort Worth.

At 2:14pm, emergency responders from Fort Worth FD and PD along with Medstar EMS were called to a house in the 8500 block of Steel Dust Drive near Boswell High School. When crews arrived, they found three people with gunshot wounds.

A 5-year-old and 17-year-old have been pronounced deceased as a result of this incident. An 18-month-old was shot in the leg and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say multiple suspects drove up to the house and opened fire. After firing several shots, they fled the scene. A vehicle description has not yet been released by officials.

The investigation is on going.

UPDATE: The 5-year-old boy was identified as Rayshard Scott, who died at 3:32 p.m. Sunday at the Cook Children’s Medical Center Emergency Room, according to the medical examiner’s website.  

Jamarrien Monroe, 17, was pronounced dead at 3:14 p.m. Sunday at John Peter Smith Hospital.
