The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight in the southbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike near Lakeview Parkway.
At around 12:19 am this morning, Rowlett Fire Department and DPS Troopers responded to the crash and found two vehicles with major damage. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
Authorities say the driver of a pickup truck was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of PGBT when they hit another vehicle head-on. Both drivers were killed in their crash. Their identities have not yet been released pending next of kin notifications.
The crash remains under investigation.
