According to witnesses, a vehicle was traveling in the left lane when it suddenly veered across the other southbound lanes, went off the roadway, and struck a metal sign, causing the vehicle to roll.
The driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old man, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by Arlington firefighters. He was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries. During the course of the investigation, it was determined he was a Detention Officer with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
