Dallas Police are looking to identify a suspect in a shooting in the 3600 block of Sunnyvale Street.
On February 25, 2023, at about 2:45 PM, Dallas Police responded to the 3600 block of Sunnyvale Street for a report of a shooting.
The preliminary investigation determined two groups met at the scene, one including the owner of a stolen Dodge Ram, the other, the suspects who stole it, to sell the truck back to the owner.
A fight broke out between the two groups, and as the suspects left the scene in a dark Jeep Cherokee, a man in the other party, fired multiple rounds at the Jeep.
At the time of the shooting, an uninvolved driver was passing by when his vehicle was hit by the gunfire, causing the driver to lose control and crash. The victim was not injured by the gunfire and all other parties left the scene.
This remains an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 032759-2023.
