Auto-Pedestrian Collision Claims Life of Grand Prairie Cyclist

The Grand Prairie Police Department is currently investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian collision that occurred on Saturday, September 23rd, in the 2400 block of W. Pioneer Parkway, near South Great Southwest Parkway.

According to the authorities, the incident transpired around 12:45 PM when a 56-year-old bicyclist, identified as Jessie Moreno Jr, attempted to cross the roadway without yielding the right of way to oncoming traffic. Moreno was struck by a Nissan passenger car in the process.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Moreno to Medical City Arlington Hospital, where he received medical treatment for his injuries. Despite the medical staff's efforts, Moreno succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, September 26th.

The Grand Prairie Police Department has confirmed that no charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the passenger car involved in the collision.
