On Saturday, November 11, 2023, at around 6:44 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a collision at the intersection of Matlock Road and E. Bardin Road involving a motorcycle and a sedan.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the motorcycle driver, a 65-year-old man, lying unresponsive on the roadway. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to investigators, the motorcycle was heading northbound on Matlock Road when it collided with a 1999 Lexus ES 300 making a left turn from the southbound lanes of Matlock Road to the eastbound lanes of E. Bardin Road. The impact ejected the motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Witness statements and evidence at the scene suggest that the motorcycle had a green light when the crash occurred, though speed may have played a factor. The driver of the Lexus, who was unharmed, remained at the scene and is not facing any criminal charges at this time.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. The incident is currently under investigation by the Arlington Police Department.
