Dallas Stars and Farmers Branch Unveil Plans for StarCenter Multisport Facility, Set to Open December 2024

The Dallas Stars and the City of Farmers Branch announced today the joint construction of StarCenter Multisport Farmers Branch, a versatile athletic facility set to open in December 2024. Spanning 81,780 square feet on over three acres of land, the facility will be located adjacent to Children’s Health StarCenter Farmers Branch.

The StarCenter Multisport Farmers Branch aims to cater to more than 50,000 unique youth athletes annually, offering flexibility to configure up to eight basketball courts or up to 16 volleyball courts simultaneously, depending on daily sports programming.

As part of their commitment to youth and recreational sports, the Dallas Stars, with over 80,000 active participants and 8.5 million annual visitors across nine facilities, are expanding beyond ice-related activities. The new multisport property signifies a strategic move to engage a broader range of youth athletes in the Metroplex.

Dallas Stars President and CEO Brad Alberts expressed enthusiasm, stating, “The new multi-sport facility will provide geographic benefits for sports teams based in the area and become a premier community sports hub. The demand for youth sports in North Texas continues to grow, and we are excited to be a part of it through this new chapter in our partnership with Farmers Branch.”

City of Farmers Branch Mayor Terry Lynne highlighted the longstanding partnership with the Dallas Stars, citing the success of the existing ice hockey facility. Lynne stated, “We want to grow that collaboration and provide another world-class athletic venue here in Farmers Branch, and the Stars are the ideal professional team to help us do it.”

This facility marks the second multi-sport addition to the Dallas Stars’ portfolio, following the acquisition of The MAC in Lewisville, Texas, in October 2022. The MAC, a 38,000-square-foot facility, hosts volleyball and basketball courts, a concession stand, and is home to Texas Advantage Volleyball.

The construction of StarCenter Multisport Farmers Branch will be overseen by Lee Lewis Construction, Inc., a leader in commercial construction with a presence in Texas since 1976.
