On the evening of January 31, 2024, a suspect entered the Church's Texas Chicken restaurant located at the corner of N. Story Rd and W. Rochelle Rd in Irving, Texas, with the intent to commit theft. The suspect, a former employee of the restaurant, was armed with a hammer and a fork. During the robbery, he threatened a juvenile worker and stabbed the owner of the restaurant with the fork.
Irving Police Officers responded to the incident and took 49-year-old Franjuan Eucola Johnson into custody. Johnson was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary of a Building. He also had an unrelated open warrant from Harris County for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
On March 12, 2024, a Dallas County Grand Jury indicted Johnson. His court case is pending. Johnson has two prior convictions for Possession of a Controlled Substance: one in 2007 in Montgomery County and another in 2012 in Nacogdoches County.
