On August 13, 2024, Staci Lynne Blackmon of Southlake pled guilty to two cases of Theft Over $300,000 and was sentenced to 35 years in prison for each charge.
Blackmon, who was arrested in October 2022, stole a total of $1.2 million from her former employer’s account and the company's bank account over a period starting in 2020. According to online records, Blackmon's former employer was SCH Homes, a commercial and residential construction company based out of Southlake, Texas.
She used most of the stolen money to purchase "Tik Tok" coins, which are in-app currencies bought with real money.
In addition to the in-app currency, Blackmon used the funds to buy a Dallas Mavericks Suite, home furniture, and to fund lavish trips.
The Southlake Police Department investigated the case. It was prosecuted by Tarrant County Assistant Lori Varnell, with DA Investigator Dara Couch overseeing the investigation.
