Critical Injuries Reported as North Richland Hills Residents Attacked by Bees

On September 24, 2024, at 12:09 PM, the North Richland Hills Police and Fire Departments responded to the 8000 block of Cross Drive following reports of two individuals being swarmed by bees.

Emergency responders, along with local beekeepers, quickly arrived on the scene. The North Richland Hills Fire Department transported both a male and female victim to a local hospital. The male victim is currently in critical condition.

In response to the situation, beekeepers are actively working to contain multiple hives and wasp nests in the area.  They were concentrating on the trunk of a mature tree in the front yard of the residence.

Authorities are advising residents to avoid the vicinity to prevent further incidents.  The area has been blocked off by NRH Police and  NRH Volunteers.

UPDATE:  The victim was identified as 72-year-old Lonnie Dorsey.  Dorsey has died from his injuries.
