On September 26, 2024, at approximately 11:27 a.m., Mansfield Police Department officers were dispatched to 3145 E Broad St (Market Street) after receiving a report of a woman shoplifting by concealing items inside her skirt. As officers responded, the store's caller updated dispatchers, informing them that the suspect had fled in a black Honda Odyssey with two male accomplices.
Dispatchers provided real-time updates to officers, allowing them to quickly locate the vehicle. Mansfield officers initiated a traffic stop at the Chevron station located at US 287 and E Broad St. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers identified the suspects as those involved in the theft at Market Street.
During the traffic stop, officers discovered multiple trash bags inside the vehicle containing hundreds of stolen items, including makeup, perfumes, circuit breakers, and household goods such as laundry detergent, razors, and toiletries. The investigation revealed that the goods, valued at over $10,000, were stolen from multiple locations across Texas.
All three suspects were taken into custody and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, in addition to facing outstanding warrants from other agencies. The swift coordination between Mansfield officers and dispatchers was critical in apprehending the suspects and recovering the stolen property.
