On Monday, September 30, 2024, White Settlement Police Officers responded to a report of a stolen car taken from the 400 block of N. Cherry Lane. The vehicle's owner assisted officers in tracking it using a mobile app. This led officers to a motel in Fort Worth, specifically in the 2700 block of S. Cherry Lane near Calmont Avenue, where the stolen vehicle was found still occupied by the suspect in the parking lot.
During the arrest, officers discovered a loaded handgun in the suspect's front waistband. The firearm was confirmed stolen on September 27, 2024, from the City of Fort Worth. The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner, and the recovered handgun will be provided back to the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD).
The successful operation was praised, with commendations given to West Comm Dispatcher Adrianne Stewart, Sgt. Stewart, Corporal Streif, Officer Hale, and Officer Brown for their efforts.
