On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at approximately 7:49 PM, Irving Police officers responded to a report of a car accident in the 2200 block of N. O'Connor Road, near the intersection with W. Airport Freeway (Hwy 183). Upon arrival, officers found a 46-year-old Hispanic woman who had been struck while driving her vehicle by a white 2023 Nissan Rogue SUV. The driver of the SUV fled the scene immediately after the collision.
During the investigation, officers located the suspect vehicle, leading to the arrest of 30-year-old Gustavo Adolfo Delgado-Gonzalez, a resident of the 1500 block of Dale Place in Irving. Further investigation revealed that Delgado-Gonzalez was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Additionally, it was discovered that he is an undocumented immigrant.
Delgado-Gonzalez has been charged with Accident Involving Over $200 in Damages, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), and Immigration-ICE Hold.
