On October 12, 2024, at approximately 3:30 AM, Irving Police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Rolston Rd in South Irving in response to a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found 24-year-old Alvaro Duvan Lozano-Ortiz suffering from multiple stab wounds. Lozano-Ortiz was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspect, 21-year-old Sandra Roman-Solorzano, was apprehended shortly after the incident and has been charged with Murder. She is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $500,000 bond. The Irving Police Department has not provided a motive for the stabbing at this time.
Roman-Solorzano has a history of violence. In 2020, she was arrested by Lewisville Police and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member. In 2022, Denton County deputies arrested her for failing to appear in court for the 2020 assault case. She was later found guilty of the assault and sentenced to two days in jail and probation.
The investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing.
