On Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:34 a.m., Lewisville Police responded to an active shooter at Allegiance Trucks, located at 1825 Lakeway Dr. Suite 700. Witnesses reported that the female victim was shot while sitting at her desk during her lunch break.
Officers quickly arrived on the scene, where the suspect, 51-year-old Travis Lee Merrill, surrendered by getting on his knees. The firearm used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released. Merrill has been charged with Murder and booked into the Denton County Jail. The investigation continues.
