On October 26, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Irving Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 160 block of Cowboys Parkway at The Waterford at Valley Ranch apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers found 18-year-old Cidrik Calhoune deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Following an investigation, Irving detectives identified 17-year-old Khalil Phillip Lavell Townsend as the suspected shooter. Two days later, on October 28, officers located and arrested Townsend. He was booked into the Irving Jail at 4:02 p.m. on a murder charge and is currently awaiting bond. In addition to the murder charge, Townsend faces an open warrant from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office for a separate drug possession charge.
