American Airlines AAdvantage® members will soon experience streamlined airport security at Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints with the introduction of TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID. This initiative, launching at select airports in the coming months, allows eligible AAdvantage® members to move through security with minimal contact.
The touchless process will match the customer’s image with their passport photo, enabling a hands-free experience through TSA security. "We want to give our customers an easy experience while they move through every point of their travel journey, and the airport is a big part of that,” said Kim Cisek, American’s Vice President of Customer Experience. “Introducing this option will help customers move more seamlessly from the airport lobby through TSA security to enjoy the next step in their travel."
Eligible AAdvantage® members will need to provide their AAdvantage® number, valid U.S. passport information, and Known Traveler Number (KTN) to enroll. Enrollment is renewable annually, and members can opt out at any time. Further details on specific launch locations and timing will be shared with members as the rollout progresses.
