American Airlines Adds First Nonstop Flight from DFW Airport to Venice, Italy

American Airlines announced an expanded European network for summer 2025, introducing additional routes to Italy, including new destinations in Venice (VCE) and Naples (NAP). Starting June 5, 2025, American will launch its first nonstop flight from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Venice. The airline will also add flights to Naples from Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and offer expanded service to Rome (FCO) from Miami (MIA) and Philadelphia (PHL).

“As Italy continues to remain popular for summertime travel, American is making it easier than ever for customers to shop, dine, or unwind in their favorite destinations,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning. “Whether reveling in the history of Rome or relaxing on a beach on the Mediterranean, American’s network will offer more ways for customers to plan their perfect itinerary.”

American’s new Chicago to Naples route will make it the only U.S. airline offering nonstop service from ORD to NAP in 2025, with more seats to Naples than any other U.S. carrier. This service provides convenient access to the Amalfi Coast, historical sites, and Italian cuisine. Additionally, American’s summer service from MIA to Rome has been moved up to June, with a second daily flight from PHL also added.

The airline also announced additional flights from DFW and MIA to London Heathrow (LHR) and a new route from ORD to Madrid (MAD), increasing travel options through American’s European partner hubs.

Tickets for these new routes will be available for purchase starting November 4 on aa.com and the American Airlines mobile app.
