The Irving Office of Emergency Management is inviting public input on the city’s Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HAZMAP), a critical document aimed at reducing disaster impact on the community. Federal guidelines mandate that the public and stakeholders have an opportunity to review and comment on such plans to enhance their effectiveness.
Community members can submit feedback on the proposed HAZMAP via email to oem@cityofirving.org until Friday, Nov. 22.
The plan outlines strategies to mitigate the impact of disasters by identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities within Irving. This proactive approach aims to reduce loss of life and property, establishing long-term solutions to protect residents and reduce the cycle of damage and reconstruction.
Residents are encouraged to participate to help strengthen the plan and improve community safety.
