UPDATE: On November 13, 2024, the U. S. Marshals Taskforce arrested a 19-year-old female, Amaya Medrano, in connection to the murder of the victim, 66-year-old Ahmad Alkhalaf. Medrano is charged with Capital Murder and is currently in Dallas County Jail. Her bond has been set at $1 million.

On November 8, 2024, at approximately 3 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of South Marsalis Avenue. According to the preliminary investigation, one individual sustained a gunshot wound and was transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a local hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. The case is currently documented under case number 169419-2024, and the investigation remains ongoing.
