Garland Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with a shooting that occurred on November 20, 2024, near Broadway Boulevard and Centerville Road. The shooting followed a physical altercation at a nearby restaurant, where a group of individuals clashed before two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, pursued by others. As they drove through a shopping center parking lot, one of the suspects fired a gun.
The incident led to a police pursuit on November 21, 2024, when Mesquite Police Officers located the suspect vehicle, a white Nissan Sentra, traveling on US Highway 80 near Gus Thomasson Road. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, sparking a brief chase that ended when the vehicle crashed on Interstate 30 near Jim Miller Road.
Inside the vehicle, police found the two suspects involved in the shooting: a 15-year-old Hispanic male juvenile and 17-year-old Anthony De Los Santos. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Garland Detention Center.
The suspects are facing the following charges:
- 15-year-old Juvenile: Two counts of Deadly Conduct, Tampering with a Witness, and Evading Arrest.
- Anthony De Los Santos: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, two counts of Deadly Conduct, Tampering with a Witness, and Evading Arrest.
No bonds have been set, and the investigation remains active. Garland Police have thanked the Mesquite Police Department for their assistance in locating and apprehending the suspects.
