Wrong-Way Driver Opens Fire After Crash on Southlake Boulevard, Arrested for Aggravated Assault

On Friday morning, November 22nd, around 9:30 a.m., Southlake police officers responded to multiple reports of a wrong-way driver in the 600 block of West Southlake Boulevard (FM 1709). The driver, traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes, reportedly struck multiple vehicles before crashing in the 1400 block of East Southlake Boulevard.

As officers arrived at the crash scene, the suspect retrieved a rifle from his vehicle and fired at another driver and a responding officer. The officer returned fire, defending both himself and the other driver. No injuries were reported during the exchange of gunfire.

The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Sean Wallace Jordan of Colleyville, Texas, was immediately taken into custody. Jordan has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.

"I am grateful for the quick response and actions of our officers today to protect the community and for our other law enforcement partners in the area who provided their assistance with this incident," stated Southlake Police Chief Ashleigh Casey.
