Man Found Guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault After CODIS Link, Faces Murder Charge in Separate Case

Keldrick Querterrius Hines

On November 15, 2024, 32-year-old Keldrick Querterrius Hines was found guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault and sentenced to 23 years in prison. The case was prosecuted by Tristin DerMargosian, with Haley Pratt as the second chair, and assistance from DA Investigator Abigail Cruz and DA Victim Advocate Adriana Sellers. The Dallas Police Department led the investigation.

The crime occurred when the victim, while moving apartments within the same complex, left her front door slightly ajar. Hines entered, masked and armed, forced the victim into her bedroom at gunpoint, and committed the assault. Afterward, he stole her ID and money.

Initially, the case went cold as the victim did not know her assailant. Months later, a CODIS hit identified Hines as the suspect, leading Dallas Police Detective Cardenas to link him to two other sexual assault cases that occurred after the first incident.

Hines was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Addison in February 2023 after being on the run.

In addition to the sexual assault conviction, Hines faces a pending charge for the murder of 21-year-old Miguel Guzman. Guzman died from a gunshot wound to the back of his head following a dispute over a stolen phone. Hines and 30-year-old Tedarrian Keon Lockett were arrested in connection with the murder. However, the case against Lockett was dismissed on September 14, 2023, due to insufficient evidence to establish his role as the shooter.
