On December 6, 2024, a Tarrant County jury found 44-year-old George Dennis II guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child. The court stacked his sentences for a total of 74 years in prison.
In July 2023, a 17-year-old boy told Fort Worth Police investigators that his high school tennis coach, Dennis, sexually assaulted him multiple time over many years beginning when he was 15. The Crime Against Child Unit arrested Dennis after a warrant was issued. Dennis worked as a private tennis coach in the north side of Fort Worth through his own company, The Big G Tennis Group.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Marina Thomas and Tad Schmidt. The DA investigator was Brent Ezelle and the victim coordinator was Laura Medina.
