High-Speed McLaren Crash in Lake Highlands Leaves Two Dead

On Monday, December 9th, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to a major accident at the 8800 block of Abrams Road, located between Whitehurst Drive and Royal Lane in Lake Highlands. The crash involved a McLaren sports car, traveling at high speed, which split in two after colliding with a Toyota sedan.

The 29-year-old driver, Cristobal Flores-Espino, the owner of the McLaren, and his 31-year-old passenger, Robert Leroy Rocha, were both pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the Toyota sedan, who was also involved in the crash, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The emergency call was made as an officer assist request by an off-duty Dallas Police officer who witnessed the crash and called for immediate response. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The McLaren, a luxury sports car with a price tag starting at $200,000, was severely damaged in the collision. Authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
