The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at a residence in the 5600 block of Seafield Lane in the Marine Creek Community.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., Northwest Division officers responded to a domestic disturbance call reporting that a suspect inside the home was intoxicated and had fired several gunshots indoors.
Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter and attempted to make contact with the suspect using loud hailing. Additional gunshots were heard coming from within the residence.
The situation escalated when the suspect exited the home and fired a weapon at officers. Multiple officers returned fire, striking the suspect.
Officers from the Tactical Medical Unit and MedStar personnel provided immediate medical assistance. The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
No officers or civilians were injured during the incident.
The department’s Major Case Unit is leading the investigation into the shooting. Fort Worth Police have emphasized their commitment to public safety and transparency as the inquiry continues.
