The week began with two victories for the girls’ team against Prestonwood Christian Academy (74-46) and Trinity Christian Academy ( 78-37). Sophomore Sarah Rovi won the 100 Free and was second in the 200 Free to lead the girls’ squad. Sinjin Venegas once against lowered his own school mark in the 500 Free, and in doing so, became the third Wolf to qualify for the 4A TISCA Championship in December. The boys lost to PCA (71-42), but managed to tie TCA (50-50).
Lone Ranchview diver Ilya Leboulch competed at the 5A TISCA Championship in The Colony. He performed strong and finished in 18th place out of 24 of the top 5A divers in North Texas.
The sixth week of competition ended with a tough meet in Frisco. Five swimmers attended the Frisco Invitational qualifying meet, a run-through of what to expect at the championship meets in January. The team swam tired, but that didn’t stop Kazuomi Motoike from dropping 3 seconds off his 100 Back for a 10th place finish. He was also 9th in the 100 Fly as the top Wolfpack performer. The Ranchview boys earned 15th place out of 19 teams, while the girls were 16th. Sinjin Venegas was named the team’s sixth “Athlete of the Week” for his string of record-breaking swims over the past few weeks.
