
MacArthur Clinches Playoff Spot With Victory Over Irving
Irving, Texas. November 14, 2009 – MacArthur clinched a playoff berth with a District 7-5A win over its city rival by a score of 20 - 3.
MacArthur's James Sims, who rushed for 199 yards on 27 carries, clinched the win with a 26-yard touchdown run with 1:27 left.
MacArthur (6-4, 3-3) led 13-3 at the half behind a pair of Jason Frimpong touchdown passes to Johnny Haynes – 7 yards in the first quarter and a 34-yard shuttle pass in the second.
Irving (1-9, 1-5) scored on a 20-yard Anthony Salas field goal in the first quarter.
