Irving Flood Control Completed Five Major Projects in 2009BY IRVING WEEKLY STAFFIrving, Texas. January 21, 2010 – Irving Flood Control District Section III (IFCD 3), the publicly funded entity responsible for providing flood control facilities and operations in the Valley Ranch community, will finish the 2009 calendar year with operational costs below budget and five key projects completed. The most significant assignment completed was a series of improvements to the Ledbetter sump area at the northeast intersection of MacArthur and Avenue of Champions. The District reconstructed slopes, installed four large storm drains and put in place shoreline protection. The improvements significantly reduced erosion and damage to the Ledbetter sump while enhancing the aesthetics of the area.
In 2009, the District completed a number of additional major projects, including:
