UIL Realignment Puts Irving Schools in Tough DistrictBY IRVING WEEKLY STAFFIrving, Texas. February 1, 2010 – Irving schools have been placed in District 6-5A as per the new realignment from the UIL (Texas's University Interscholastic League). The new district looks like this:

The new alignment will make the football season interesting with six of nine teams having been playoff teams last season. Haltom, MacArthur, Grapevine, Heritage, Nimitz and Trinity made it to the playoffs with Trinity finishing up as state champion in 5A Division I.
