Duties include conducting and responding to salary surveys; benchmarking job classifications and job families to market data; processing job reclassification and evaluation requests; developing and revising job descriptions; maintaining salary information in a shared compensation database, ensuring that the City’s compensation systems are maintained; conducting research and compiling informational and statistical data into comprehensive reports; and preparing presentations and a variety of correspondence.
The person assigned to this position would assist in developing and implementing streamlined compensation-related processes and provide performance based on best practices. Candidate needs to be knowledgeable of current trends in compliance for the functional area. A Bachelors degree, or equivalent, in human resources, public administration, organizational development or a related field is required. Must have three years experience in compensation, as well as one year lead or supervisory experience, and working knowledge of compensation and employee relations principals. Must also have knowledge of State and federal laws that apply to compensation structure; demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, writing and presentation skills; and be proficient in Microsoft office applications.
