Sh 183 To Be Closed Overnight Sept. 23 |
Irving, Texas. September 22, 2021 –
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will fully close east- and westbound State Highway 183 (SH 183) from Spur 482 to Maryland Drive from 10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, to 5 a.m., Friday, Sept. 24, for bridge deck construction.
Detour signs will be posted for travelers. TxDOT places message boards along the SH 183 corridor to alert drivers of upcoming construction activities. The agency urges motorists to use caution in the work zone. Visit www.DriveTexas.org for the latest road closures.
DETOUR ROUTE
- Drivers on eastbound SH 183 will exit at Maryland Drive/Regal Road and follow the frontage road to the next open entrance ramp.
- Drivers on westbound SH 183 will exit at Spur 482 and follow the frontage road to the U-turn back to SH 183.
Drivers should plan ahead for extra travel time in this corridor and are advised to seek alternate routes when possible
The work is part of the $301 million Irving Interchange project that will reconstruct the interchanges at SH 183, SH 114, Loop 12 and Spur 482. The project is anticipated to be completed in mid-2023.
