National Drug Take Back Day Is Oct. 23; See Where Irving Residents Can Dispose Of Unused Or Expired Prescriptions

Irving, Texas. October 12, 2021

Oct. 23 is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Irving residents can dispose of unused or expired prescriptions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day in the parking lot at the Irving Police Department stations: 305 N. O’Connor Road and 6800 N. MacArthur Blvd. (Medical City Las Colinas). 

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is an initiative of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and is aimed at preventing addiction and overdose caused by prescription drugs. For more information on the national event, visit TakeBackDay.DEA.gov

For those who cannot attend the national event, the Irving Police Department established a Medication Disposal Program for residents to drop off unwanted or expired medications in a safe environment. The medical disposal receptacle is available 24/7 year-round at 305 N. O’Connor Road. The drop box is a free service for Irving residents only.
