Irving ISD Athletes Named to Academic All-State Football Team

Irving, Texas. December 28, 2021 –

Congratulations to the following students for being named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State football team:

Irving High School:

•     2nd Team- Ricardo Portillo, Ayman Amer
•     Hon Mention-  Johnathan Velasquez, Rashad Daniel, Dominic Aguilar

MacArthur High School:

•     1st Team-  Nipun Gaind, Gustavo Alexander Camacho
•     2nd Team-  Bryler Nitcholas

Nimitz High School:

•     2nd Team-  Hayden Williams
•     Hon Mention-  Jeremy Reyes, Abdiel Barrera, Isaiah Gipson, Michael James, J’Den Hall

The Texas High School Coaches Association and Coaches Education Foundation recognize high school athletes who excel in the classroom. To be nominated for Academic All-State, a student must be an athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team; of good moral character; a senior; and have an overall grade point average of 92 or above (including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12).
