Irving-based Commercial Metals Company Building A Micro Mill

Irving, Texas. January 17, 2022 –

Commercial Metals Company is building a micro mill to serve the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Mid-Western markets.

The company is still in the process of choosing where the facility will be located. The planned mill will help Commercial Metals Company expand its footprint and increase its scale in the Eastern regions of the country.

With state and local permitting, incentives and other procedures, the mill is expected to be completed in about two years.

Commercial Metals Company (NYSE: CMC) aims to have the facility be one of the most environmentally friendly steelmaking plants in the world. The mill’s technology will have lower energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
